Previously, the agency encouraged beneficiaries to update details to include banking details for pay outs. “All applicants for the COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress grant were encouraged to update their details on the system, to have the grant paid into their own personal bank account, as this is the safest way in which to receive the funds.”

The South African Post Office also encourages SRD Beneficiaries to cashout their funds at merchants such as Pick n Pay, Boxer, Shoprite and USave. The Post Office is no longer issuing out the SRD grant payments.
