Overview

The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development is seeking applications for six General Worker positions across various districts. These are entry-level positions offering a salary of R138,486 per annum (Level 02).

Requirements

To qualify for these positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: ABET Level 2 or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
• Skills and Competencies:
  • Basic literacy and numeracy (ability to read and write).
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and gardening principles.
  • Ability to operate basic garden equipment and machinery.
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Capability to perform manual work.
  • Commitment, loyalty, punctuality, and productivity.
  • Good behavior towards customers and effective communication skills.

Duties

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Performing general assistant tasks.
• Maintaining premises and surrounding areas.
• Ensuring the safekeeping and maintenance of gardening equipment.
• Moving furniture and equipment as needed.
• Removing garbage and empty boxes.
• Assisting with receiving stock and goods.
• Reporting any losses or damage to equipment.
• Loading and offloading goods.
