Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality, also known as Dr RSM District Municipality, is a Category C municipality in North West province. Previously known as the Bophirima District Municipality, it is the largest district in the province, comprising of nearly half of the geographical area. Dr RSH District Municipality involves five local municipalities, which are:

  • Greater Taung Local Municipality
  • Kagisano-Molopo Local Municipality
  • Lekwa-Teemane Local Municipality
  • Mamusa Local Municipality

There are several departments within the municipality like tourism, management, budget and treasury. These departments provide public care and services to over 400,000 residents and thousands of businesses.
