Requirements:

• National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Safety Management / Occupational Health and Safety
• One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in Occupational Health and Safety / SHE-related field
• Knowledge of and completed courses in SHE-related legislation
• SAMTRAC and OHSAS 18001 will be an added advantage
• Valid unexpired driver’s licence
• Computer literacy
• Leadership skills
• Communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Strong relationship-building ability
• Analytical thinking
• Self-confidence
• Ability to work independently and within a team

Duties:

• Attend OHS Committee meetings and obtain minutes of the safety committee meeting
• Monitor compliance with issuing of PPE
• Assist supervisors in maintaining safety record files
• Perform OHS induction for contractors, visitors, and employees
• Provide support and assistance during emergency situations/incidents
• Implement OHS system and facilitate training for all employees, managers, and contractors regarding health and safety
• Conduct risk assessments for office operations
• Execute internal safety audits and inspections
• Enhance safety awareness and ensure the implementation of OHS policies
• Report on all internal accidents and related incidents
• Recommend necessary changes to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Assess and provide on-job training to subordinates
