Matric plus National Diploma (NQF level 6) /Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Environmental Management or equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA.5 year’s management experience or relevant experience in Environmental Management or related field of which 3 years must be at an Assistant Director level.
A valid driver’s License. COMPETENCIES: Computer skills, communication skills (both verbal and written), Management of people, Management of finances (budgeting, controls, reporting), Strategic planning and project management, policy development, and corporate governance.
Manage and ensure that there are registers for EIA-related applications, Land use, and NEMA queries as well as applications submitted in terms of the Gauteng Provincial Environmental Management Framework (GPEMF). Ensure stability of such records and make them accessible whenever required. Ensure that there are copies of application forms and decisions issued concerning the above.
Do the initial screening of applications to ensure compliance to application submission requirements before sending to line function for review. Manage effective safekeeping of Environmental authorizations and any other comments issued as required by legislation. Provide strategic capability and leadership and ensure efficient management of the unit and projects. Oversee resources (Human, Financial, Equipment/Assets) Provide and administer environmental management-related logistics and support.
