About South African Women in Science and Engineering (SAWISE)
The South African Women in Science and Engineering (SAWISE) is a dynamic association that celebrates and strengthens the role of women in science and engineering in the country of South Africa. This organization strives to achieve its goal by raising the profile of woman scientists and engineers, emphasizing and addressing issues faced specifically by women in these fields, supporting the advancement of women in the aforementioned fields, and providing leadership and role models for young people intending to enter the fields of science and engineering.
SAWISE Angus Scholarship 2022
The South African Women in Science and Engineering (SAWISE) will be awarding scholarships exclusively to young women who are currently in their 4th year of study at the tertiary level and are studying or wishing to study within the fields of science and engineering. The bursary is a partial scholarship that amounts to R15,000 per annum.
Requirements and Eligibility For The SAWISE Angus Scholarship
Applicants must qualify in the following minimum requirements prior to applying:
- A sub-Saharan black female
- Must have achieved 70% or above grade average in her subject of study
- Only for studies at Honours level (or 4th-year equivalent e.g. in engineering)
- Studying within any fields of science and engineering
Please be advised that South African applicants will be given preference and successful applicants will be a member of SA WISE.
How to Apply and Application Details
Applications must be done online. To complete the application visit the SAWISE Angus Scholarship Online Application Form 2022.
On the website indicated above, applicants will be required to fill out the form. Afterward completing the online application form, applicants will be required to submit clear copies of the following along with the completed application form:
- Curriculum vitae
- An official academic transcript

Please be advised that submitting a completed application form and necessary documents are compulsory. Failure to do so may lead to an unsuccessful application.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If you don’t receive a response by the 20th of December, consider your application as unsuccessful.
