Sassa Updates: Sassa Payments for August 2022 to Start on the 2nd of the Month
The social grants payments for the month of August will start on the 2nd of August and will be concluded on the 4th of August. The monthly schedule for Sassa payments for the year 2022 to 2023 indicated that payment for the Sassa grants will begin on the 2nd of August.
Reminder from Sassa
Sassa reminds beneficiaries that they can withdraw their month on any day of the month after payment. You do not have to withdraw the whole money if you don’t want to use it all at a time.
What is Sassa Social Assistant?
Sassa describes Social Assistance as an income transfer in the form of grants provided by government. A social grant refers to grants paid by the South African Social Security Agency that is: disability grant; grant for older persons and war veteran’s grant; foster child grant; care dependency grant; child support grant and grant-in-aid
Extended Child Support Grant
This year, the government has also introduced a top-up Child Support Grant also known as Extended Child Support Grant. The Social Relief of Distress Grant for COVID-19 is also one of the grants administered by the South African Social Security Agency.
Social Relief of Distress Grant for Disasters
In case of other disasters such as floods or natural disaster in general, Sassa may also provide Social Relief of Distress Grant for Disasters. This may come in a form of food parcels of food vouchers
