Group Five was established in 1974 and have client bases in South Africa, the rest of Africa, Europe, Russia and the USA as well as operations in 28 countries. The company’s expertise includes project development, investment, construction, operations and maintenance and the manufacturing and supply of construction products in the infrastructure, construction, energy, resources and real estate industries.

Group Five has a Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Level 9 rating and a Level 3 Generic Scorecard Broad Based Black Employment Equity (BBBEE) rating. The company enforce a standard approach to safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ). Not only Group Five is involve in construction and engineering industries, it has also involvement in investment and concessions as well as manufacturing fibre cements and steel products.

Group Five Bursaries

Group Five bursary program offers tertiary funding for aspiring young professionals as well as practical experience within the Group Five’s multi-industry businesses. The bursary is open to B Sc / B.Tech students in engineering (civil, mechanical and electrical), quantity surveying and construction management degree or National Diploma students in construction and related disciplines. Bursary holders will also be given opportunities like Graduate Development program, paid OJT and site experience (local and international), multidisciplinary exposure and professional support network.

Bursary holders will be required to perform vacation work for the company during university breaks. This will give the students the opportunity to apply their learned knowledge in the industry operations.

Group Five Bursary Requirements and Eligibility

• South African citizenship
• Good academic merit
• Students of engineering and construction degrees
