Job Advert Summary

Clover has an exciting opportunity for unemployed youth to join our Sales department as Merchandisers. The purpose of the program is to provide 12 months of valuable work experience. These positions are based at Clover’s branches, including Clayville, CDC Cape Town, Bloemfontein, and Queensburgh.

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF4 qualification
• Fluent in Business English

Duties and Responsibilities

• Stock Control:
  • Apply correct stock control measures in-store and in back-up areas
  • Minimize and document returns according to the store work plan
  • Avoid stockouts and report any occurrences to the Area Manager (AM)
  • Place accurate and timely orders in line with ordering schedules
• Shelf Management:
  • Ensure clean and neat product displays on shelves
  • Apply correct shelf control based on store and shelf plans
  • Maintain indicated shelf sets and product placements using provided plannograms
  • Ensure PI labels are in place for each product at all times
• Fridge and Equipment Maintenance:
  • Ensure fridges are well-maintained and organized
  • Follow company policies regarding crate and equipment control
• Merchandising and Promotions:
  • Pack shelves according to the store flow as guided by the AM
  • Apply basic merchandising principles to enhance product visibility
  • Maintain and position point-of-sale materials appropriately
• Administration and Relationship Management:
  • Complete all relevant administrative tasks
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with store management, AM, head office (HO), customers, and fellow merchandisers
