BMW South Africa Bursaries
The BMW bursary is a financial support and development programme for future potential employees pursuing studies in the fields of , and at various tertiary institutions. This bursaries programme also provides grantees with paid vocational experience, the opportunity to participate in dialogue development sessions with the company’s associates, individual projects and assignments as well as the potential to further participate in the 24-month BMW Graduate Programme South Africa.
BMW bursary pays for university registration and tuition fees, accommodation costs and prescribed books and examinations expenses.
About BMW
BMW was founded in 1916, is a Germany-based company which first produced aircraft engines until 1945 then currently manufactures automobiles and motorcycles. The company has its headquarters in Munich, Bavaria but also produces motor vehicles in Brazil, China, India, South Africa and the United States. Automobiles are marketed under the brands BMW (BMW M for performance models and BMW i for plug-in electric cars), Mini and Rolls-Royce. Motorcycles are marketed under the brand BMW Motorrad. One of the most popular car models is the BMW 3 series.
BMW Group in the South African market started in 1973 through the establishment of Plant Rosslyn. It has South African facilities in Midrand (Sales Headquarter) and Pretoria (Plant Rosslyn), as well as many dealerships and first-tier suppliers. BMW SA has signed a power purchasing agreement with the energy company Bio2Watt in 2014. In 2015 the Head office in Midrand has been awarded a 5-star rating by the Green Building Council South Africa (GBCSA) for environmental friendliness which is the first for automotive company.
Bursary Requirements and Eligibility
- Students that have completed at minimum their first year at the University
- Academic average of 70% and above
