How to Reapply for R350 Grant

Sassa SRD applications for the extended R350 grant have opened on the 23rd of April 2022. Applicants are now able to send applications to Sassa via the website.

Application Channels

Social Development Department said that “Applications can be lodged on the SASSA website at https://srd.sassa.gov.za. Further communication will be issued as more application channels are opened.” New developments indicated that the WhatsApp channel will open from 2 May 2022.

 Applications will be considered for each month where the application is done. “All applicants are reminded that they will be considered for the Covid-19 SRD from the month in which the application is lodged and this will be validated every month. This means that all applications lodged in April will be considered as from April 2022.”

Qualifying requirements for SRD R350 Grant

Applicants for the R350 grant have to meet the following requirements:

Be a South African citizen/Permanent resident or Refugee registered with Home Affairs database.

Currently residing within the borders of South Africa.

Above the age of 18 and below the age of 60.

Has not unreasonably refused to accept employment or educational opportunities.

Not receiving adult social grant in respect of him/herself.

Not receiving Unemployment Insurance Fund benefits.

Not receiving stipend from NSFAS.

Not receiving other government COVID-19 response support.

Not a resident in a government funded or subsidised institution such as prison or others.

How to Reapply for R350 Grant

Whether you are applying for the first time or reapplying, at the moment, there is only one application channel open which is the SRD website. To apply go to https://srd.sassa.gov.za and follow the instructions.
