Job Description:
The Department of Defence is seeking to appoint qualified individuals for the position of Provisioning Administration Clerk – Production (X61 Posts) to support our operational logistics and provisioning services. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the operational effectiveness of the Department while gaining valuable experience in the logistics and procurement sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide provisioning administration services in support of unit operational requirements.
- Determine needs, meet specific supply demands, and manage goods, equipment, materials, facilities, and services.
- Manage stock items, prevent losses, and maintain accurate registers, charts, and record books to monitor stock levels.
- Issue and finalise vouchers, prepare and print receipt vouchers, handle routine enquiries, and register demands on stock sub-accounts.
- Ensure safe storage, preservation, and repacking of stock.
- Maintain neat and orderly stores, update directives, regulations, and manuals relevant to provisioning.
- Handle routine correspondence and records of autonomous activities.
- Perform basic calculations, compile statistics, and draft letters, notices, memoranda, and submissions.
- Contribute to the efficient functioning of internal services including accounting, transport, and depot administration.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification.
- No prior experience required; however, training in asset management, codification, and/or procurement will be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and innovation.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- High reliability, tact, and discretion.

- Ability to handle routine tasks with precision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining stock records.
- Ability to manage stock replenishment effectively.
- Excellent documentation and administrative skills.
