Some of these projects include reading foundations, mentorship programs and academic bursaries. The HKA bursary is now available to South African students for the 2021 academic year.
The HKA Bursary
The HKA Bursary 2021 focuses on students joining the faculty of Law. The company hopes to help candidates with a passion for this field of study to achieve their goals. Students taking one of the following degree qualifications are eligible for this financial aid:
- BCom Law
- LLB
- BA Law
Funds will be directed towards covering all expenses related to the bursar’s studies. The primary objective of this bursary is to maintain the high levels of quality available with the delivery of services in this sector. Candidates who qualify for funding are encouraged to hone their commercial awareness and apply it towards the development of their community.
HKA Bursary Application and Requirements
Candidates for the HKA Bursary are expected to meet a minimum set of requirements to qualify for consideration. A failure to satisfy these criteria will lead to the immediate disregard of your application. First year students are also not eligible for this bursary. Each applicant should:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be currently registered in a South African university for one of the degree qualifications mentioned
- Have already completed their first year of study
- Have maintained an average grade of 70% or above in their studies
- Portray a proven financial need
Students from Nkangala District and other historically disadvantaged backgrounds may be given preference during the selection process.

Candidates who want to apply for this bursary will need to download and fill out the application form.

Students should then submit the completed application together with the following accompanying documents before the deadline:
- A certified copy of your ID
- A certified copy of your Matric certificate (If applicable)
- Latest academic transcripts
- A brief Curriculum Vitae
- A Motivational Letter explaining why you think you should be awarded the bursary
The application and accompanying documents should be emailed to BursariesZA@hka.com with the words “Bursary Application: Your Name” on the subject line.
Only emailed applications will be accepted. Other forms of delivery including fax and post will result in immediate disqualification.
