AAA Academic Bursary Programme
The successful candidate will enjoy access to the following bursary benefits:
- Full tuition fees for the student’s last year of qualification
- Accommodation fee coverage
- Coverage for textbook expenses
- A new laptop
Additionally, beneficiaries who successfully complete their degree will have an opportunity to join an internship intake or even mentorship. They will also have to render work-back service to Electrum for 1 year.
All About Awesome Women in Tech Bursary Programme
As part of Electrum’s commitment to encouraging more women to join the field of financial technology, the company offers bursary support that offers a number of significant benefits including:
- Full tuition fees for the student’s last year of qualification

- Career guidance from designated mentors
- Coaching about job interviews
Electrum Foundation Bursary Programme
Electrum has established a bursary foundation for the purpose of helping promising yet financially-challenged IT students towards their goal of becoming professionals in the software development field. This bursary provides coverage for the following:
- Book expenses
- Full tuition fees
Electrum Bursaries Requirements and Eligibility
Before applying, the candidates must first satisfy the minimum requirements. Failure to meet these requirements will result in their application getting disregarded:
AAA Electrum Academic Bursary Requirements and Eligibility
- Must study Computer Engineering, Computer Science or any related field of study.
- Must be currently in their final or second year of honours year or undergraduate studies.
- Must be studying at the University of Cape Town or Stellenbosch University.
- Must have achieved 65% or higher in all Computer Science-related modules
- Must maintain an average of at least 65% with no failing marks
All About Awesome Women in Tech Bursary Requirements and Eligibility
- Must be female, pursuing a Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or any relevant qualification
- Currently in their final or second year of undergraduate or honours qualfication
- Pursuing studies at the University of Cape Town or Stellenbosch University.
- Must have achieved at least 65% for all modules of Computer Science.
- Preferably from a previously-disadvantaged background
Electrum Foundation Bursary Requirements and Eligibility
- Must study Computer Engineering, Computer Science or any related field of study
- Must be currently in their second or third year of honours year or undergraduate studies
- Must study at the University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, University of Western Cape or UNISA
- Must not have the financial means to fund their studies
- Must have good communication skills

Applicants who meet all of the above requirements may apply for one of the bursaries by sending their application to careers@electrum.co.za. On the subject line of the email, applicants should enter the bursary they’re applying for along with their name:

- All About Awesome Women in Tech Bursary – the applicant’s full name
- Electrum Foundation Bursary – the applicant’s full name
Together with the completed application form, submit the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae
- The applicant’s most recent university transcripts
- Prepare for a 2-hours technical
Failure to submit these supporting documents will lead to the application getting disregarded.
