Requirements
Minimum Educational Qualification:
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
Experience:
- Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare environment is an advantage.
Inherent Job Requirements:
- Physically able to lift and move heavy objects and supplies.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery and equipment used in domestic and clinic settings.
- Willingness to rotate to other clinics within the Mossel Bay Sub-district as needed.
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of refuse/waste products, adhering to policies and cleaning procedures.
- Familiarity with Department of Health and Wellness legislation and policies relevant to cleaning practices.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cleaner, you’ll ensure our facility meets high standards of cleanliness and safety by:
- Performing general cleaning and housekeeping tasks (e.g., dusting, sweeping, polishing, scrubbing, mopping, and cleaning windows, walls, equipment, and machinery).
- Managing refuse removal and ensuring effective waste and linen management.
- Using and storing cleaning materials and equipment efficiently.
- Supporting the supervisor and team with housekeeping duties and services.
- Maintaining a hygienic and safe environment by adhering to standards and procedures.
