Foreman Cleaner Ref: DOD/01/12/23/04 (2 positions available)

Salary: R128,166 per year (Level 3)

Location: Department of Defence, Headquarters Unit, Erasmuskloof, Pretoria

Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of a Grade 10 or ABET L1-4. Special skills required include the ability to communicate effectively in English, basic knowledge of health and safety, familiarity with basic maintenance of machinery with low complexity, knowledge of basic hand tools and cleaning equipment, ability to operate cleaning machines, ability to perform routine tasks, ability to work independently and as part of a team, basic numeracy and literacy skills, and physical fitness for performing cleaning duties.

Responsibilities: The Foreman Cleaner is responsible for cultivating garden areas, preparing soil for planting, maintaining flower and other beds by fertilizing, irrigating, weeding and pruning, mowing lawns and cutting edges, loading and unloading various articles and equipment needed on the grounds, irrigating lawns, removing refuge from the terrain, loading refuge on the truck for transformation to refuge dumps or burn refuge, and maintaining the neatness of unit areas.
