About Mpumalanga Attorneys Council
The Mpumalanga Attorneys Council was established as a part of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces and has the main purpose to govern attorneys within the province as well as to make certain that the attorneys serve local communities in the Mpumalanga province. The Council not only administer practicing attorneys in the province but also provides information to the general public about attorneys and their activities and/or offered services. This information includes the ways to complain against an attorney, client expectation regarding attorney services as well as legal background on topics such as divorce, maintenance, buying, selling and letting property, wills, the execution of deceased estates and debt collection.
As of 2015, Mpumalanga Attorneys Council has around 390 firms, 708 members and 49 newly admitted attorneys. The Council is representative of all races and genders and is supported by an administrative infrastructure.
Mpumalanga Attorneys Council is not limited to representing attorneys practicing in the Mpumalanga Province but also includes activities such as regular council meetings, creating marketing opportunities, managing bursary fund, conducting projects to raise funds for the bursary programme such as the Charity Golf Day and involvement in social responsibility projects.
Mpumalanga Attorneys Council Bursaries
The Mpumalanga Attorneys Council bursary trust was founded to help financially disadvantaged first year LLB students at an accredited South African university, specifically from the Mpumalanga Province, with financial support for their education.
